Green Kids Auction Safety & Standards
We have two tiers of standards for all products listed on Green Kids Auction. The first tier involves safety. All products listed on GKA must be safe. Please review our Safety Standards Policy below. Our second tier of standards is optional and includes being eligible for inclusion into our "Organic and Toxic-Free" category listing. This is an exclusive listing which highlights only products which meet an additional level of criteria for the way in which these products were manufactured. Users on the GKA site are able to search for products specifically within this category to highlight only those products which meet the criteria of being organic and toxic-free. Safety Standards
Safety for our children is our utmost concern. At Green Kids Auction, we have a very strict safety policy.
We have absolutely no tolerance for the sale of any:
- goods which are broken or damaged,
- car seats which have sustained an accident,
- or goods which have been recalled due to safety issues.
In order to protect the safety of GKA users, we enforce a no-tolerance policy on safety. If a user is found to list an item which fits the above criteria, they will be permanently banned from use of the GKA website. We have to take a hard line on this issue, as parents need to have confidence that when they are purchasing from this site, they are buying items which will help promote health and happiness for their children.
***An important note to sellers. We realize that product recalls happen everyday, while many of us are unaware of them. In order to avoid inadvertently posting an item which has been recalled, please visit the www.cpsc.gov site and search for your item. It is your responsibility to make certain that the items you post are safe for others to use.
Even though we trust that sellers will take responsibility in selling only safe goods, as a consumer please double-check the www.cpsc.gov website yourself before purchasing any items.

Organic and Toxic-Free Standards
For those parents who have chosen to provide their children with only organic and toxic-free products, we have created an easy way for you to find fabulous, safe products for you and your family! We have even created a separate search criteria for you.
In our search box, you will see a search filter option to search only for Organic, Toxic-Free products. Check this box if you would like to narrow your search to only include these items. So what exactly does Organic and Toxic-Free mean? We have created very specific criteria with which to rate products. We greatly respect the work and efforts that the powerful nonprofit, Healthy Child Healthy World, has done in the efforts of educating parents about the importance of creating healthy environments for children. We have chosen to utilize their same level of criteria which differentiates which products are safest for use by our children. We believe they have taken an intelligent approach to qualifying and screening products and services. Our Baseline Quality Standards for Organic, Toxic-Free Products
Products must:
- Be certified organic or free of all pesticide residues .
- Not be chronically toxic - including not carcinogenic, not reproductive toxic, not endocrine disrupting, not neurotoxic, and not teratogenic
- Not contain toxic dyes
- Not contain health compromising chemicals – including alkylphenols, polyurethane, petroleum distillates, phosphates, chlorine, chlorinated or brominated solvents, petroleum-derived or petrochemical fragrances, parabens, sulfur oxides, organohalides, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene (TCE), perchloroethylene (Perc), dioxins and furans, hexavalent chromium, organophosphate pesticides, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), 2,4, dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4, D).
- Not contain sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, propylene glycol, artificial colors and synthetic fragrances, synthetic preservatives, petroleum-based ingredients, formaldehyde donors
- Not contain PVC
- Not contain bisphenol-A (BPA), PFCs, PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers)
- Not contain heavy metals – including lead, mercury, cobalt, chromium, nickel, beryllium, arsenic, and cadmium
- Not tested on animals
- Not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
